Saint Basil’s Cathedral, church was constructed on Red Square in Moscow between 1554 and 1560 by Tsar Ivan IV (the Terrible). The church was designed Russian architects, but built by an Italian architect. Legend says that sadly, the architect was blinded so that he could never create anything that was similar or equal.

Red Square : Dating from the late 15th century, just after the Kremlin walls were completed, Red Square has long been a focal point in the social and political history of Russia and the former Soviet Union. During the Soviet era the annual May Day and October Revolution (November 7 Day) military parades were probably the best-known celebrations held in Red Square.
